Our society is currently facing a health crisis that requires social-distancing. I provide online counselling to meet the needs of people during these stressful times. Online counselling has been shown to be as effective as in-person counselling for many types of concerns, although some issues may not be properly addressed this way.
Please contact me and we can discuss if online options will fit for you.
A comfortable Space
Deciding to seek some help is sometimes a difficult step to take and can feel full of unknowns. Therefore, I believe in making a space that is safe, without judgement, and accepting of all people no matter their circumstances. You're also encouraged to call and/or email me with any questions you have before setting up the first appointment to help you feel more sure if therapy is a fit for your concerns.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) has been the gold-standard treatment for anxiety and depression for many decades. In current views, a “third-wave” of CBT has emerged that helps people learn to stand apart from their problems in a compassionate and mindful state of non-reactivity.
Eye-movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful intervention for rapidly relieving suffering related to trauma and anxiety. EMDR is a well-established and effective technique to address post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and is used today to address issues related to childhood trauma, relationship trauma, car accidents, and military/service trauma.
Mindfulness is a present-centered state of non-judgmental awareness that relieves emotional distress while also building one’s capacity to manage their inner world. Mindfulness has ancient roots in Eastern meditative traditions and is especially relevant in modern clinical interventions.
It is important that you feel like starting with therapy is the right choice for you, for now. Please contact me with any questions and/or to discuss what counselling might be like for you.
